Safety Engineer- railway industry

Driving technology forward, overcoming challenges, and pioneering tomorrow's innovations, we are currently seeking a Safety Systems Engineer to join our client, a leading manufacturer of rail vehicles.

Your area of responsibility:

• Selecting suitable risk evaluation and acceptance methods
• Defining safety functions, system requirements for on-board components, and conducting tests
• Designing functional safety systems for rail vehicles
• Identifying and classifying hazards (e.g., via HAZID, FMECA)
• Performing reliability analyses
• Preparing documentation to demonstrate safety compliance and validation (e.g., system definitions, hazard logs, validation reports)
• Providing compliance evidence through FTA using the ITEM toolkits
• Working closely with colleagues and certified partners

The right qualifications:

• Understanding of functional safety standards such as:

CSM (Regulation No. 402/2013), RAMS (EN 50126, EN 50129), EN 61508, or IEC 61513

• Eagerness to learn new concepts and processes
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented approach to work
• Proficiency in English language (min.B2)
• Nice to have: knowledge of the rolling stock industry
