The main purpose of the role is to operate as an experienced legal advisor and HR practitioner providing high quality, commercially informed, accurate legal advice, providing legal support to the organisation and all functions of Human Resources. Operating as a highly experienced specialist, well-versed in both employment law and HR Policies, processes and practices, the role holder will advise on and proactively lead a variety of HR topics, including responsibility for a collaborative cooperation with Trade Unions.
Purpose of Role:
Key area of responsibility is to fulfil an objective, advisory role, facilitating risk management, good corporate governance, informed decision-making, and compliance for the all Polish business units by developing excellent understanding of the company’s vision and strategy as well as internal HR policies, providing subject matter expertise in employment and labour relations law.
Experienced and proactive, the role holder is responsible and accountable for identifying where particular subject matter expertise is required, in providing such advice and in critically assessing how the function may continue to develop in supporting the company’s strategy. This includes the support of local management and HR.
The role holder may be engaged in providing advice about legal issues, risk and possibilities affecting the all Polish business units in relation to all stages of employment cycle, leading on project work related to implementing new legislation. Working closely with Trade Unions, the role holder will cultivate a good relationship, lead in negotiations on all pertinent topics, including creating or amending relevant Policies and Regulations.
Key activities:
- Providing responsive, balanced legal and business advice informed by market practice, applying a business outcome and risk management informed approach
- Carrying individual responsibility for structuring, drafting and negotiating of a range of agreements, working collaboratively with peers, colleagues and, where required, external parties, trade unions, specialist advisers etc.
- Advising members of the senior Leadership Team on introducing solutions to changing regulations and supporting stakeholders with devising sensible steps to address or otherwise manage or mitigate risk, ensuring all known issues are addressed.
- Tracking changes in labor law regulations and suggesting methods of implementation in the organization as well as training and developing HR in ER matters
- Being an advisor in adapting changes in regulations to internal procedures and systems.
- Ensuring efficient and qualitive delivery of advice across business, in line with local legal regulations.
- HR Projects and Policy - developing, delivering, and supporting HR projects to meet the strategic ambitions of the business and the function
- Pragmatically cooperating and demonstrating thought leadership for cross-functional projects, actively engaging and seeking to steer and influence outcomes
- Providing advanced knowledge of HR policies and best practices affecting HR programs, in accordance with the law, demonstrated by the ability to analyze and explain how policies or procedures apply to unique needs
- Working with Trade Unions on pertinent issues, applying a range of influencing and negotiation styles, contributing to and leading the dialogue, discussions, and initiatives
- Conducting analyses and issuing legal opinions on the introduced documents, procedures, or regulations.
- Developing, delivering, and supporting HR projects to meet the legal requirements.
- Ability to analyze and explain how policies or procedures apply to unique business needs.
- Oversee the creation and documentation of written HR procedures, processes and internal regulations.
- Proactive support in raising knowledge about current labor law regulations for all managerial levels.
- Participation and Responsibility for external and internal audits, governance, and risk management.
- Managing GDPR issues
Requirements:
- Fluent in verbal and written English and Polish is a must
- Expertise and a minimum of 15 years’ practical experience in Polish labor law; ability to interpret regulations and propose practical solutions
- Proven track record of having worked in a unionized environment
- Prior experience in creating workplace Regulation documents
- Resilient and experienced in working within demanding professional environments

- Good IT skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

- challenge more senior managers, if required
- Knowledge and experience of advising on social fund (ZFŚS) matters is an advantage
- Willingness to travel between our offices (Łódź, Warszawa, Katowice) when needed
